Yuletide: Anambra, Delta police commands move to ensure free traffic flow on Niger bridges

Anambra and Delta police commands have planned a proactive strategy to address traffic congestions along the two bridges on River Niger linking the two states during the forthcoming Christmas season.
The Anambra State Commissioner Of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam, who spoke after a security assessment on the bridges with the management of the Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Commission,FRSC, urged motorists and other road users to cooperate with the security operatives during the period.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement said: "The CP visited the two bridges with the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps in the state for a proactive action
during and after the yuletide period.
The CP also alerted the Delta State Commissioner of Police on the need for cooperation and intensification of surveillance patrols to nip in the bud, all criminal tendencies/ activities on the road and to ensure free-flow of traffic in the area during and after the festive season.
He further affirmed that the Anambra State Police command shall continue to explore strategies to ensure the safety of the travelling public as it remains committed to consolidating on the gains already recorded in crime prevention, restoration of law and order and improving on the safety and security of lives in the state."
