The Deputy Minority Whip in the House of Representatives, Hon George Ozodinobi, has told his colleagues who recently defected from the Labour Party, LP, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) that they will regret their decision in the 2027 general elections.
Ozodinobi, who represents Anaocha/ Njikoka/Dunukofia in the green chambers, described the defectors as people without ideology, emphasizing that the Labour Party is not embroiled in any crisis.
The lawmaker’s comments came after four LP lawmakers announced their defection to the APC, who said their reason for defection was as a result of leadership crisis within the Labour Party.
According to Ozodinobi, Labour Party remains united and strong, adding that the defectors will soon realize their mistake.
“I am telling those who have defected that they will continue weeping for themselves because where you have crossed over to, you don’t have a future,” he said.
The lawmaker expressed disappointment that the defectors were swayed by the APC’s promises, which he described as a rotten carrot.
He said that APC has brought hunger and suffering to the country, and that the defectors will soon regret their decision.
