A senatorial aspirant for Anambra South Senatorial District on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Paul Orajaka has promised to address the insecurity situation in the area if elected into the National Assembly.
Orajaka want to fill the vacancy created as a result of the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who was representing the zone before his death.
Addressing reporters in Awka, Orajiaka lamented that the greater bulk of insecurity in Anambra State is domiciled in his constituency.
He emphasized that his decision to go to the senate was driven by his desire to use the platform to make policy laws that would positively impact the security situation in his constituency.
The businessman turned politician assured that his entrance into the senate would add to the number of good people in the red chamber, who would work to change the perceived rubber-stamp stature of the National Assembly.
He listed his priority to include security, health, electricity, employment, education, road, and appealed for a level- playing ground in the party's primary election for the nomination of its candidate for Anambra Senatorial District, which is expected to take place soon.
Orajaka also promised to revisit some of the bills initiated by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and fine-tune them for the benefit of the area.
On the leadership of Labour Party, Orajiaka stated that being a law-abiding citizen, he has accepted the leadership of Julius Abure, following a court judgment that declared him the authentic national chairman of the party.
He also commended the national leader of the party, Mr. Peter Obi, who was the party's presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.
