The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has made a strong case for the empowerment of women, noting that when women are empowered, families and communities are stronger and healthier, and societies move forward.
In a message to mark this year's Women’s Equality Day, Mrs Soludo celebrated the strength, brilliance, resilience and invaluable contributions of women everywhere.
According to the Anambra first lady, equality is not about giving women an advantage, but ensuring that every woman and girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, work, dream and thrive without limitations imposed by gender, culture, religion, or social impediment.
"In all that we do, let’s continue to build a world where every girl can see possibility in her future and every woman can take her rightful place at the table.
We, therefore, cheer women who inspire, nurture, lead and transform our world. May we keep creating spaces where their voices are heard, their contributions valued and their potential fully realized", she said.
