Vehicle stolen in Anambra recovered by Police in Delta

The Anambra State Police command and the Delta State Police command, have recovered a school bus stolen in the state and abandoned in Delta State.


The school bus, which belongs to SUSU College, was found abandoned opposite the Magistrate Court, Asaba in Delta State.


Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said in a statement that officers attached to the Isiowulu Police Division, who had been investigating the case, acted on credible intelligence received on July 12, 2025.


The state Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, commended the swift synergy between both commands and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation between sister security agencies in tackling crimes that transcend state boundaries.


Ikenga said that investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft of the bus is ongoing, adding that efforts have been intensified to apprehend the perpetrators.


In another development, the PPRO said that acting swiftly on the intelligence-led information, the Divisional Police Officer, Obosi led a team of police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilante personnel and recovered another vehicle.


He said that in a coordinated search, the Police recovered an abandoned 2005 model Toyota RAV-4, red in colour, with registration number YAB 122 AZ (Abuja) along Fresh Air Hotel Road, near Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Odume-Isiowulu, Obosi.


According to him, the vehicle was snatched from the owner in the early hours of 11th July 2025 by three armed men in Oba, Idemili South local government area.
