Prof Ben Nwabueze dies at 92

Nigeria’s foremost constitutional lawyer and former Minister of Education, Professor Ben Nwabueze, is dead. He was 92 years.

It was gathered that the legal luminary, who hailed from Atani in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State, passed on Sunday evening in his home in Lagos.

Nwabueze was also Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The Member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Afam Ogene and the President General of Atani Town Union, Arinze Nzeli, have confirmed the death of the legal luminary.

Nzeli said the eminent legal icon passed on in his Lagos residence, at about 4pm on Sunday.

According to Nzeli, the eminent lawyer has been sick for sometime.

Anambra State government is yet to react on Nwabueze's death.
