Prince Arthur Eze, Innoson, Obi of Onitsha to set up 3 new universities in Anambra

A Nongovernmental Organization, NGO, the Golden Organization for Accountability in Leadership and Development, GOALD, has set machinery in motion for the establishment of three new universities in Anambra State by three prominent sons of the state.

At its meeting in Awka, the chairman of the organization, Chief Anthony Ugozo said the universities are Innoson University of Technology and Robotics to be established by the chairman of Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company, Nnewi, Chief Innocent Chukwuma; University of Management and Legal Studies to be established by the oil magnet, Prince Arthur Eze and Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe University of Culture and International Studies to be named after the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.

Ugozo said the three prominent Anambra sons are being persuaded by the organization to see the universities as their contribution to the educational growth of the state, assuring that the universities will take off next year.

Ugozo said: "We feel strongly that the chairman of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, who is doing everything tangible in Nigeria, Africa and globally for people to assess mobility easily, will be disposed to establish a university in his name .

Also, Igwe Achebe is a global brand and we believe that a university that bears his name will be a viable venture. The same goes for Prince Arthur Eze who is a business mogul.

The idea is to transform Anambra State into an educational hub and we believe that when these institutions are in place, people will come to acquire quality education in this state.

We will ensure that the three universities receive accreditation from the National University Commission.

These universities are expected to admit students within the next one year. We know the mind set, thinking pattern and quality of the people we are working with for the establishment of the universities, and we know that they would gladly identify with the project.

When these universities are established in Anambra State, people will understand that we are serious in taking the state to a higher level educationally.

We discover that often times most of the well -to -do individuals in Anambra State send their children abroad to acquire quality education, when we have people who can bridge the existing gaps with their God -given resources."

He explained that all the committees expected to drive the concept of the organization have been set up, adding that the objective of the organization is to generate a very clean atmosphere for good governance with accountability as its cardinal index

The convener of the body, Chief Ralphs Nwosu said the organization would lead by example. "We want to be a pathfinder and we expect our people to hold us accountable for whatever actions we take", Nwosu said.

He said that branches of the organization would soon be established in other states of the federation, after it might have generated visible and tangible progress in Anambra State within the next one year.

He added that various committees to drive the organization's programmes have been set up. Some of the committees, he said, include legal, education, administration, contact and mobilization, as well as non indigenous committee.
