Pregnant woman found hanging on cashew tree in Anambra

Awka- Security operatives in Anambra State have begun investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who was found hanging on a cashew tree along the Ike -Ideani road in Idemili North local government area of Anambra State.

Residents of Ideani Community said they were taken aback seeing the body of the woman on the tree in the bush.

The Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu has already called on stakeholders and community leaders in the local government to assist with information to unravel the cause of the death.

The CP described the incident as unfortunate, adding that it as an example of man's inhumanity to man and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

He called on members of the public to help identify the deceased to enable the family members to collect the corpse.

According to the CP, operatives from Ogidi Police Division have recovered the body and deposited it in the mortuary.
