Police rescue three kidnap victims in Anambra, recover one vehicle

Police operatives attached to the Neni Divisional headquarters in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, have foiled a kidnap attempt in the area and rescued three victims, including a husband and wife.
During the operation, the joint security team recovered one of the victim's vehicles from the scene, while the hoodlums escaped in one other vehicle.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the security team responded swiftly following a distress call along Okacha junction in Neni on Saturday.
Ikenga said: "The Joint Security Force, comprising the Military, Civil Defence and Vigilantes, complimented the onslaught of operational efforts of the Police aimed at arresting the armed hoodlums and to recover one black Lexus 350 SUV with Reg. No: ABJ 557 LD snatched from the second rescued victim, which the hoodlums used to escape from the scene."
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has urged residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding, and work together with security agencies to maintain peace and security in the state.
