Police raid drug den, arrest 6 suspects in Anambra

The Anambra State Police command has raided a suspected drug den in Oko, Orumba North local government area of the state and arrested six persons allegedly linked with the substances.
During the raid, a large quantity of banned drugs were recovered. The state Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu said the drugs are usually the oxygen behind most criminal activities in the state.
The operation was carried out by police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu Ukwu in major clampdown on all criminal activities in Oko and its environs.
The arrested suspects include Joseph Chukwura, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Ifeanyi Agbanari, Igwe Chineche, Mmadufor Chinecherem, Chibueze Chukwumankpam, and Mmadubom Uchenna, whose ages are said to be between 24 and 35 years.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation for necessary information, especially on the recent disturbing incident in Oko, which claimed some lives.
Ikenga said the command believes that this latest initiative may help to nip in the bud the prevalence of criminal activities and expose more criminal networks in the area.
