Police arrest man who participated in N15m ransom for kidnapping

The Police command in Anambra State has arrested a man, Ebuka Ndubuisi, who allegedly participated in an armed robbery operation, and also collected N15 million as ransom from a kidnap victim.


Ndubuisi was arrested through information provided by his gang member, Miracle, who was earlier arrested by the Police in Awka.


According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect was arrested in Obosi, Idemili North local government area.


A statement by Ikenga said: "Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu, swiftly acted on information provided by the suspect (Miracle) in custody over the case of armed robbery and kidnapping.


The victim had paid N15 million to the suspects and his vehicle also taken, but his vehicle was recovered from Ebuka Ndubusi aged 29 years on 7/12/2024 by 8:03 pm at Obosi, Idemili North."


The PPRO said that upon the arrest of Miracle, the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam directed that immediate action be taken, adding that it was that action that led to the arrest of Ndubuisi on Saturday night.


He however said that investigation on the matter would continue, after which the suspects will be charged to court.
