Two persons - Nnanna Charles and Okoye Chukwunonso - have been arrested by the Anambra State Police command for allegedly defrauding a businessman of two truck loads of cement worth N17 million.

The Police said the arrest followed a complaint received by operatives attached to the 33 Police Station, Onitsha on how one Edwin Emeka of unknown address defrauded an unsuspecting member of the public of the two trucks load of cement.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the victim met Edwin online and was in communication with him, adding that immediately the cement was supplied, all attempts to get to Edwin proved abortive.

He said that the Police operatives later traced the goods to different shops in Anambra State.

Ikenga said the two suspects are currently undergoing interrogations to provide more information on how to arrest Edwin and other syndicate members.

He added that the case highlights the importance of vigilance, especially those met online for business transactions and other personal engagements, which often lead to harm or loss of life and property.

He further explained that the case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of investigations.
