Ojukwu Varsity awards Honorary PhD to Mrs Soludo, 5 others

The 25 -year old Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University had awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Nutrition Sciences to the wife of the Anambra State governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo forher contributions towards ensuring healthy living through her pet project, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo.
The project has become a household name in the state, particularly with her latest addition, Nonye's Healthy Living pap, which has been acknowledged by the World Health Organization, WHO, and the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF.
Also honoured with honorary doctorate degrees were business mogul, Emma Bishop Okonkwo, traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alex Onyido, Managing Director of Dozie Group, Mrs. Ada Chukwudozie, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi and Engr Chigozie Mbanefo.
Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Kate Omenugha said during the ceremony at the Igbariam campus of the university that they were honoured for their contributions humanity and the university in particular.
She said that the university is striving to bring the institution among the top ten in university ranking in Nigeria in the next few years.
The visitor to the university and governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo appreciated all those who contributed to make it a real citadel of learning.
Describing education as the now of tomorrow, Soludo said without education, there can be no future, adding that there is no better investment than the one done in education.
He called on Anambra people to emulate those who had helped in one way or the other to improve education in the state.
According to him, people are usually remembered by the legacies they left behind and not the amount they have in the bank or the number of houses and vehicles they acquired while alive.
