Delivering a speech, Moghalu said: "Myself and my deputy, Mrs Okaro, have a commitment not to let you down. We have discussed and we have agreed to partner to keep to all our promises. We have agreed to change the narratives.

"Your labour will not be in vain. Hold me to my promise. I don't say what I cannot do. This confidence you have placed on me, I will not fail you, I will not disappoint you; I will not let you down".

Stressing the importance of party loyalty, the LP flag bearer urged members to gird their loins and work for the success of the party in their various localities.

He added: "Anambra is a unique state, with all the potentials. All that the people need is the enabling environment to thrive.

Our biggest challenge is not infrastructure deficit, but that the people have lost confidence in government. They see government as fraud.

We must restore that confidence and the only way to do that is through good governance and fear of God and accountability, and address insecurity.

Labour Party will definitely emerge victorious in the election as long as the party remains united and battle ready for the contest."

Moghalu, the immediate past Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) recalled his outstanding performance in the agency, especially in the area of transparency and accountability, pledging to replicate same if elected.

"I left a reasonable and impressive legacy in NIWA of which the staff are very happy about. I feel satisfied and fulfilled that I justified the confidence reposed in me. I'm eternally grateful to God for providing the platform."
