A man whose name was given as Mr. Sunday Nwakanze has allegedly lured his brother in-law, Mr. ThankGod Adiegbuo, into kidnappers' den at Abagana in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State.

Adiegbuo, in a viral video described as miraculous, his escape, adding that Nwankanze, who is a brother to his wife and a former school mate, met him recently and they exchanged numbers and since then, has been calling him, requesting for a visit.

Adiegbuo said that following his inlaw's persistence, he decided to visit him, which turned out to be a terrible experience.

Adiegbuo said: "He told me there is a place he is building house close to Abagana Girls Secondary School. He gave me direction to the place and I took off to the place with my car.

“When I got close to the area, it turned out to be a shrine. I was not afraid because I'm not new to visiting native doctors too. But while we were there, some people appeared with guns and ordered me to lie down.

They dispossessed me of all my belongings, collected my ATM card and withdrew the last N150,000 which I had. They tied me up and blindfolded me. My in-law kept assuring me that I will be fine and that I won't be hurt.

When they left the room, I heard them saying the best thing was to kill me since I could expose them. They were still there deliberating on what to do with me when suddenly, I tried to loosen the clothes with which I was tied and it all gave way."

Adiegbuo said he escaped by climbing a staircase in the uncomplicated building to the next floor and jumped into another compound.

He said that his car is still with the kidnappers and begged to be led out of the area to a nearby police station, so that he could report the matter.

When contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the command had not received any such complaint.
