INNOSON vehicles ordered for Abia lawmakers ready for delivery - official

The special INNOSON vehicles ordered by the Abia State government for members of the state House of Assembly are ready for delivery, an official of the company, Cornel Osuigwe has said.


Osuigwe's assurance came on the heels of an allegation by the lawmakers that the company had failed to supply the ordered vehicles.


Osigwe, who is the head of Corporate Communication of INNOSON said the vehicles ordered by Governor Alex Otti for the lawmakers were a special make that required the production of a new frame.


He said: "We would like to address the recent allegations made by the Abia State House of Assembly regarding the fulfillment of our agreement to produce vehicles for all the lawmakers.


The vehicles ordered by the governor for the members of the Abia State House of Assembly were a special vehicle that required the production of a new frame, which was not previously produced at our factory.


We have been working diligently to meet the unique requirements of the order, despite the challenges posed by the unusual specifications,


The vehicles are now ready for delivery, contrary to the Assembly's claims of non-fulfillment".


The Abia State House of Assembly had earlier accused Innoson vehicles of failing to deliver the vehicles, prompting the company's swift response to set the record straight.


The lawmakers said they have been waiting for several months to receive their official vehicles, leading to complaints against the manufacturer.


Abia State government had initiated the vehicle procurement process as part of its efforts to enhance the mobility and productivity of the state lawmakers
