Igwe Orizu honours, Senator Umeh, Bianca Ojukwu, Chris Ngige in Nnewi

The traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu has honoured some prominent Anambra people with chieftaincy honours , among them are Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu and former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.

The first-class Monarch, said the honours were in recognition of their outstanding contributions to promoting the Igbo cause in Nigeria and his exceptional performance in the Senate.

During the investiture ceremony, Igwe Orizu praised Senator Umeh and other recipients, noting that he rarely awards such honours, except to well-deserving individuals who have been carefully selected and scrutinized.

In his response, Senator Umeh said the gesture has strengthened his bond with Nnewi people, particularly through his collaborations with notable figures like Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dame Virgy Etiaba, and Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma.

Senator Umeh, who was accompanied by his wife Lady Prisca Umeh, the Traditional Ruler of Akwaeze, HRH Igwe Christopher Okpala, and the Traditional Ruler of Aguluzigbo, HRH Igwe Rufus Iloduba, expressed gratitude to the Monarch, the Council of Obi, and the entire Nnewi Community for the honor.

He congratulated Igwe Orizu on his successful 61st Ofala Celebration at 99 years old and commended the Monarch's dynamic leadership, peace, and progress in the community.

He prayed for God's blessings on the Monarch, wishing him good health and long life to celebrate his 100th birthday and 62nd Ofala next year and beyond.

The Senator assured Ndi Nnewi that he would continue to speak truth to power, just like the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and ensure effective representation of the people, upholding Igbo values.
