Heavy rain destroys property at Chime Avenue.

Business premises at the entrance of Chime Avenue were heavily flooded during the heavy downpour pour this evening, the 16th day of April 2025.
The flood occurred due to blockage of the drainage channel connecting some parts of the phone village to the drainage channel between New Haven and Independence layout through Chime Avenue.
The contractor of the construction of the new vehicle parking lot at Chime Avenue appears to have unintentionally blocked the drainage channel thereby forcing the flood to create its own channel through the nearby buildings and flooding the shops along the area.
The affected shops are Life Supermarket, Food supermarket and all the shops on both sides of the road.
Shop owners and residents are still cleaning the shops as at the time of filing of this report and others might still have to continue the cleaning process till next day before counting their losses
