Anambra Police command loses ACP Ops

The death has occurred of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of Operations in the Anambra State Police command, James Omanulun Ihiabe.


ACP Ihiabe died on 1st October, 2025 after a brief illness. The command described his demise as a great loss, adding that he has left a void in the fight against crime and the maintenance of law and order in the state.


The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, said the late senior Police officer distinguished himself through years of dedicated service to the Nigeria Police Force and to Anambra State.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State command, Ikioye Orutugu, has also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, the Inspector-General of Police, and the entire Nigeria Police Force.


He described Ihiabe’s death as “an irreparable loss” to the command and the nation’s security system.


According to the Police command, Ihiabe's funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
