Stakeholders in Anambra North Senatorial Zone have promised to ensure that the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo is reelected in the November 8 governorship election.

At a gathering at the Otuocha Township Stadium, Aguleri, the stakeholders said the zone is united in their belief in Governor Soludo’s vision for a better Anambra State.

The event, organized under the auspices of Anambra North Stakeholders Forum; a coalition of current and former elected officials, appointees and key stakeholders from Anambra North, was themed, "Sustaining The Solution Legacy; A Path To Disruptive Development In Anambra State".

The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Somtochukwu Udeze said the event served not only as a rallying point for political support, but also a gathering to showcase the zone's aspirations and hopes for the future.

Reading a communiqué on behalf of the stakeholders, Hon Udeze passed a vote of confidence on the governor because of what he described as landmark projects he executed in Anambra North since his assumption of office.

Governor Soludo had, on arrival, expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from the people of the zone.

He also assured of holistic development of the state and commended the people for being unanimous in their support for his administration.

He said: "Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward and I assure you of my administration's continuous collaboration with the populace.

I am quite excited and surprised that the North Senatorial zone began this movement officially, even when we have not set up a campaign council because we are still focused on our work.

I hear that some politicians are already moving around. When the time comes, we will also campaign as if we are the underdog to an unknown opponent, because we will never take the support of ndị Anambra in vain."

Speaking on the title of 'Oluatuegwu' conferred on him by Anambra State traditional rulers, Soludo added: "I am telling ndị Anambra, you have not seen anything yet. We will set up a campaign council and at the appropriate time, we will start our campaign.

For now, we will continue our programmes in youth development, regenerative agriculture, health, education and others. Anambra is one state, one people, one party, Anambra is APGA land."

He recalled that Anambra North traditional rulers had on 17th October, 2020, endorsed him to become the Governor of Anambra State, noting that immediately he was sworn in, he started work in Anambra North.

"We have largely perfected the process of zoning in Anambra State, where each of the three zones produce successive governors," the governor stated.
