Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has assured the people of Anambra State that the ruling-All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, under his watch, will continue to govern the state in line with the progressive foundation of the party.
Soludo spoke at St. Jude Catholic Church, Onitsha during the thanksgiving service of the national chairman of the party, Chief Sly Ezeokenwa, who celebrated his Supreme Court victory that affirmed him as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.
Recall that the Supreme Court on November 27th, 2024 affirmed Sly Ezeokenwa as the authentic national chairman of the APGA, ending the party’s protracted leadership dispute between him and his challenger, Chief Edozie Njoku.
At the well - attended ceremony, Governor Soludo thanked APGA supporters for standing strong with the national chairman during the court battle.
According to the governor, the court victory was a clear evidence that APGA is a progressive movement formed in 2002 to provide good governance to Nigerians, adding that Anambra State has been a major beneficiary of APGA goodwill.
He added that Anambra State has been on the progressive page since the administration of Mr Peter Obi, Chief Willie Obiano and now under his watch, assuming that it will continue in that trajectory.
Governor Soludo also assured that with the victory, his administration would be more committed to the welfare and development of the state.
The celebrant, Chief Ezeokenwa, commended the judiciary for doing a great job, stating that his leadership will not disappoint Nigerians.
He added that under his leadership, APGA will work hard to ensure that Governor Soludo wins in all the 326 political wards in the state during the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
In his contribution, an aspirant of the party for the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial District bye election, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, lauded the Supreme Court for resolving the party’s leadership tussle, describing the decision as a welcome development to the Nigeria democracy.
“This landmark decision is a testament to the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is always served", he stated.
