Former Chief of Staff to former Governor Willie Obiano, Chief Primus Odili, has aligned with the view of the Minister of Works, Chief Dave Umahi, who endorsed Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for reelection.
While speaking during the flag off of the access road to the 2nd Niger Bridge at Ogbunike near Onitsha, Umahi had commended Governor Soludo on his development strides and declared that he has no valid opposition in the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
Describing Soludo's achievements as humbling, Umahi, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, added that if he were from Anambra State, he would support the Governor to continue for the next four years.
Agreeing with Umahi, Odili, who was Obiano's Chief of Staff for eight years, observed that Prof Soludo has performed creditably in just three years of office, noting that his works are good enough to compel Anambra electorate to overwhelmingly recharge his gubernatorial mandate on November 8, 2025.
He said: ”The unreserved endorsement coming from Umahi, whose transformational government in Ebonyi State when he was governor, lends a strong weight.
Whatever is left to be done has a greater chance of being accomplished if Soludo is encouraged to continue after the November governorship election.
Except development has other meanings, which are yet to be publicly knowledged, what Soludo has done, which wowed the Minister of Works, ex-Governor Dave Umahi, who was not found wanting in his time in Ebonyi, is unparalleled. Governor Soludo has accomplished a lot of premium projects without borrowing.
It may be difficult for the opposition to admit to the reality of this fact, especially the performing streak of the APGA government in the state, but the record is there and it will be difficult to upstage the party.
I can assure you that the All Progressives Grand Alliance is not in a hurry to relinquish power to the opposition in the state. Instead, the party is doubling on its hold on the people through evident performance that no braggadocio can alter.
Anambra people know that the APGA government led by Prof Soludo is working hard to bequeath them a safe, viable, and healthy state. I can safely say that Umahi’s advice to the opposition is worthwhile and should be considered in the interest of the people.”
Odili recalled that it was since the launch of the Agunechemba security outfit, when criminals in the state were given a run for their money, that development in the state had a chance to be indexed.
“With the de-escalation of abduction, murder, robbery, etc., the Soludo government now enjoys wider acceptance from the people. Anambra people are increasingly appreciative of the effort of the government in transforming Anambra into a livable smart megacity state.
What Umahi said may sound Greek to the ears of the opposition, but it is the reality. A drive around the state will convince any doubter that the solution is truly here in Anambra, and the people have embraced it in its entirety,” he concluded.
