As the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State draws near, the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has boasted that the party is set to retire a generation of politicians in the state.,

State chairman of APGA, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, while welcoming some stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anaocha local government area of the state, who defected to APGA, said almost all known PDP leaders in the state have joined APGA.

The former PDP stakeholders were led by a former presidential aide/campaign strategist, Chief Ugochukwu Adilieje and they were received into APGA at an impressive ceremony in Awka.

Obi-Okoye said Adilieje and other stakeholders and their supporters had taken a wise and noble decision to support the good works of Gov Chukwuma Soludo in the state.

He told them that they were now in the right party, recalling that even Soludo was at a time, a PDP governorship candidate and that his Political Adviser, Dr Alex Obiogbolu used to be the brain box of PDP’.

"Even myself was a former chairman of the PDP in Anambra State, before moving to APGA where I have served as a Special Adviser to the Governor, National Publicity Secretary of APGA and now the Anambra State chairman.

APGA at the moment is an amalgam of old PDP and APGA and APGA is always open to receive newcomers", he said.

Obi-Okoye assured every politician coming into APGA that there is no segregation or discrimination between new and old members in the APGA family.

"Everyone in APGA shares equal rights and privileges. All of us will grow this party and make it bigger. By your performances, you will rise to unimaginable levels," he told them.

In his speech, Adilieje said they decided to join APGA because of the superlative performance of Gov Soludo, which every fair- minded citizen acknowledges.

He said: "We now have a befitting state capital; the abandoned Government House is nearing completion, and so are many other signature projects.

He is working on roads, empowering the schools, hospitals and so on.”

He also commended Soludo for establishing the new security outfit, Agunechemba, adding that the people of Anambra State now sleep with their two eyes closed.

He pledged their commitment to work with the governor to achieve all he set out to do in the interest of Anambra people.
