Agunechemba: Another Anambra spiritualist, Prophet Onyeze Jesus, arrested

The crackdown on get rich quick spiritualists in Anambra State continued weekend with the arrest of another Isaac Okocha, aka Onyeze Jesus.

Earlier in the week, two other notorious spiritualists, Akwa Ókùkó Tiwara Aki and Eke Hit, were arrested by operatives of Agunechemba, the new security outfit established by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to fight the increasing wave of kidnappings and ritual killings in the state.

Onyeze Jesus is the founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, Idemili North local government area of the state, which people allege that he is using to perpetrate idol worshipping.

His controversial "quick riches" rituals, which involved taking his followers to a river in Nkpor, where they would strip, hold rams, and chant while throwing money into the water, had attracted so much criticisms.

After vanishing from public glare last year, Onyeze resurfaced with claims that he was kidnapped, accusing his mother-in-law of orchestrating the abduction.

Onyeze later stopped taking his clients to the river and built what he called the "Pool of Bethesda" at his residence, where he continued his practice.
